FAQs

Before you take your seat, here are some questions we get often…

Do we need acting experience?
icon

Not at all. There are no auditions, no memorized lines, and no performance background required. The scripts and coaching are designed to make first-timers feel comfortable jumping in.

What if someone doesn't want to perform?
icon

No one has to be forced into the spotlight. Depending on the session, we can incorporate supporting or non-speaking roles so everyone has a way to participate that feels comfortable.

Do we have to memorize our lines?
icon

Nope. This is a table read, so your script stays right in front of you. The focus is on listening, reacting, communicating, and working together.

How are roles assigned?
icon

Roles are assigned based on the script, group size, and the needs of the experience. When possible, we can also take individual comfort levels and preferences into consideration.

What kinds of scripts do you use?
icon

Scripts are selected to create engaging moments that naturally require communication, collaboration, adaptability, listening, and perspective-taking. We’ll help choose an experience that fits your group and what you’re hoping to accomplish.

Can The Read be customized for our team or organization?
icon

We can shape the experience around your team’s goals, group dynamics, and desired outcomes. If you have a specific theme, challenge, industry, or development objective in mind, tell us about it when you book and we’ll discuss what’s possible.

Is The Read accessible?
icon

We want everyone to be able to participate meaningfully. If someone in your group has mobility, sensory, reading, or other accessibility needs, let us know in advance so we can discuss appropriate accommodations.

Where does it take place?
icon

You can come to us at 19 Studios, or we can bring The Read to your office, retreat, conference, or other location depending on your group’s needs.

How many people can participate?
icon

The Read is designed for groups of up to 60 participants. If you’re planning something larger, reach out and we can talk through the best format for your group.

How long is the experience?
icon

A typical Read lasts approximately 2.5 hours, including preparation, the table read itself, and a facilitated conversation connecting the experience back to real workplace dynamics.

What's included?
icon

Your experience includes the scripts, role assignment, guidance and coaching, the table read, a facilitated debrief, and professional photography. Additional production options, including video, may also be available.

How much does it cost?
icon

Pricing depends on factors like group size, location, customization, and any selected add-ons. [Insert your starting price or package language here.]

How far in advance should we book?
icon

Our preferred booking window is 1-2 weeks. We recommend reaching out as early as possible, especially for retreats, conferences, or larger groups.

What should we wear?
icon

Come dressed comfortably and ready to participate. Unless your experience includes a specific wardrobe or theme, or your organization has specific rules, there’s no special dress code.
